Tree Pruning and Trimming
Pruning: selectively removing parts of plants, such as branches, roots and buds
Some of the reasons of pruning are as follows:
Think of pruning as a targeted removal of branches.
Pruning usually occurs in the late fall through winter. Having no leaves on trees during this time makes pruning ideal
Trimming: is the removal of limbs and plant material for the purpose of structural design. Think of trimming more of sculpting plants to have a uniform look. An example of this would be trimming hedges. Trimming typically involves using the scissor type shears or the power trimmer.
Tree trimming is typically done once to twice a year for the purpose of design.
